Certification

Maintenance Requirements

We hope that you find the Oregon Master Naturalist Program worthwhile and that you’ll continue to maintain your certification. The following are required for each year after you complete your initial certification.

**8 hours or more of continuing education per year

There is no shortage of seminars, classes, conferences, and field trips in Oregon that will count toward this requirement. We will even count Ecoregion Specialization classes that are not already a part of your chosen ecoregion.

**40 hours or more of volunteering per year

This is on an annual basis beyond your initial 40 hours. You can continue volunteering for the same group or pass yourself around; it’s up to you!
