How will my agency, organization or group benefit?

Oregon Master Naturalist will:

• Elevate the visibility and impact of your organization, agency or group;

• Tap into a well trained corps of individuals that can assist in achieving your goals;

• Improve the quality of the people you already have in your organization by providing additional opportunities for them to learn useful skills and knowledge;

• Generate new and/or share existing resources (e.g. funding, marketing, volunteers, projects, programs, information, research, equipment, staff training);

• Build effective, productive, and interdisciplinary partnerships with citizens, conservation agencies, organizations, Oregon colleges and universities, and Extension;

• Reach out to diverse constituencies who have never been exposed to nature and/or have not traditionally participated in natural resource volunteer opportunities, including those in urban areas;

• Promote best practices in natural resource management;

• Oregon State University Extension is well-suited to foster a statewide, citizen-based network for environmental stewardship that is responsive to the needs of local communities and is based upon science;

• The understanding and engagement of citizens are inseparable from the stewardship of the land upon which they live.
